Your privacy, in plain words
What we keep, why, and what you can do about it. Short on purpose.
Updated October 27, 2026.
What we keep
Your resume, the jobs you search and save, and what you make here: tailored resumes, cover letters and practice notes. Your email, to send your sign-in code. And a simple record of which pages you use, so we can make the app better.
More detail
- Your resume and what you make here: until you delete it.
- Your email: until you delete everything; your sign-in account goes within 7 days.
- Which pages you use, not what is in them: until you delete everything.
- Your yes to this policy and to emails, with the exact words and time: as long as your space exists.
Why
To run Square Landing for you and, only if you say yes, to tell you about things that can help your search. We never sell your information, and it is never used to train AI models.
Who sees it
Just you. We use usage data, such as which features are used and how often, to understand and improve Square Landing. The insights you see, like your gaps and matches, come from your own data and the jobs you look at, never from other people's. We look at your personal content only with your approval, or when it is needed to keep the service secure and working. A few trusted services run the app: the AI that reads your resume and job postings, a voice service for practice, the email that sends your sign-in code, and our hosting. Each gets only what it needs. Some of this work happens outside Canada, mostly in the United States.
Every service we use (12)
| Service | What it gets | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Google Gemini (AI that reads) | Resume text and job posts, with contact details and addresses removed | United States |
| Company logo lookup | Nothing about you: an employer's web address, asked by our server | United States |
| Other AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Groq) | Nothing today; the same redacted text as Gemini if we ever switch | United States |
| Google Gemini Live (voice practice) | Your voice while you practise, live; we don't record it | United States |
| Tavily (company research) | Only a company name and a role title | United States |
| LinkedIn, Indeed, and employers' own careers boards | The role and city you search; never your account or resume | Varies |
| Photon by Komoot (city suggestions) | The letters you type in the city box | Germany |
| GitHub (app updates) | Nothing about you | United States |
| Supabase (sign-in) | Your email address | Canada |
| Resend (sign-in email) | Your email address and the code email | United States |
| Font and script networks | Your IP address when a page loads | Worldwide |
| Fly.io (hosting) | Everything, encrypted | Canada (Toronto) |
